BBC Sport launches new Formula One portal

A new look F1 section on the BBC Sport website went live today ahead of the start to the 2009 season.
Lab 7 were asked to provide user experience expertise, producing wireframes and html mock-ups for this key component of the broadcasters coverage.
The site aims to capture the minds of those who are new to Formula One, as well as please those who are already big fans of the sport. To assist in this, it sports a dramatically different look to the other sections on the BBC Sport website, a look that ties in closely with the upcoming televisual branding.
What has been launched today represents the tip of the iceberg as far as the BBC’s online coverage of the sport is concerned and, as the season continues, many other features will be added in order to make this the number one destination for Formula One fans.
